Founded by dentist Dr. William K. Najjar in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ranir’s original mission was to provide U.S. retailers with own brand dental floss, and soon thereafter added manual toothbrushes. The company quickly grew to become the leader in both categories, and expanded our offerings to include trial/travel options and other oral healthcare products.
We moved to our current corporate headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Today, this location houses our primary manufacturing facilities, designed for future growth, expansion and sustainability.
Ranir became the first own brand manufacturer to enter the emerging teeth whitening category and added a new contract manufacturing business unit. Since then, we also entered other oral care categories, including: Power handles and replacement brush heads Flossers Interdental brushes Cold sore treatments Bruxism devices
Ranir acquired Placontrol, Inc., the founder of the original retail dental flosser and the leading marketer of interdental oral care products under the Plackers® brand.
Ranir acquired Synpart, an oral care own brand supplier in the UK, Germany and other European countries, providing a global footprint with a wholly owned factory in China and a shareholding in Jewel Consumer Care Pvt. Ltd., a toothbrush manufacturer in India.
Ranir acquired Frisetta, a German toothbrush and interdental brush manufacturer. Made in Germany is still known throughout Europe as a seal for quality products. Through this acquisition, Ranir also acquired the patent on the Duplex-Technology.
Ranir acquired the REMBRANDT® teeth whitening brand, and BrushPoint, a Toronto-based organization of own brand manual and power toothbrushes, resulting in a more robust offering of products and services and a broader distribution reach covering the U.S., Canada and Europe.
Ranir acquired the oral care business unit of Solent Group Holdings Limited, a diversified health and beauty products company, providing access to new customers and new products.
Ranir acquired by Perrigo Company plc, advancing Perrigo’s transformation to a consumer-focused, self-care company while enhancing its position as a global leader in consumer self-care solutions.
